Balga SC Reserves squad earned a point in their encounter against a solid Fremantle City side at Hilton Reserve.

In a see-sawing affair Balga were on the score sheet early through a spectacular header by Sam Miszori from just inside the penalty box. Miszori threatened again just minutes later but it was Fremantle City that struck back in the 26th minute of the encounter. Michael Berlingeri restored Balga’s early advantage with another great finish just before the half time break.

After the break, Fremantle kicked off on the front foot and were soon again on the score sheet. Balga then sparked up and created a number of promising opportunities. In the 70th minute, Balga were once again in front with George Duku lobbing the Fremantle keeper to make it 3:2 to Balga. Fremantle restored parity just 7 minutes later from a set piece.

“I thought the boys did very well and should of got the 3 points” says Balga SC keeper Nassa Atekhis. “What I was most impressed with was our passing and the finishing. We scored some special goals”.

Balga SC continue their long away schedule and head to Frye Park to take on the ever improving Kelmscott Roos.
