At Balga Soccer and Social Club (INC.) our aim is to bring our community together though our mutual love of sport. We aim to achieve this by teaching our members respect, teamwork and to provide them with a sense of value to allow them to make a positive contribution to our club and our community overall. In keeping with our aims and to further expand our reach the Balga SC Women’s academy was established and it has started to flourish in both participation numbers and community involvement.
With an average age of just 17 years, this group of young women will have a big impact not only on the future of women’s involvement in the sport and our club but also the wider community for a long time to come.
None of this would be possible without the support of our club members and our incredible sponsors. We wish to express our gratitude to the WA Department of Sport and Recreation for their exclusive sponsorship of the Balga SC Women’s academy for the remainder of the 2016 season. Without their support most of these girls would not able to experience life in a community club setting. They will now be able to gain valuable training as both footballers and also become more confident about their future and their life experiences.
