Balga SC is pleased to announce that our Women’s team will be joining State League Division 2 in the upcoming 2020 season.

“This is great progress for the Women’s team. They have shown that hard work can reap great rewards.” said Balga SC President and Women’s coach Ken Shorto. “The team is buzzing and are already back in training”.

Balga will be fielding 2 Women’s teams this year, State League 2 and an Amateur side. To support the women’s game and further expand our teams, the Balga SC board is committed to expanding the U12, U13 and U16 girls teams with the support of Fee Free Football (FFF) where all kids play free.

Balga is joined by Bassendean Caledonian, ECU Joondalup City, Gwelup Croatia, Leeming Strikers, Mandurah City, Sorrento and Olympic Kingsway in the league.

Football West Competition Manager Angela Murphy said: “These are exciting times for the female game in WA with the introduction of the NPLWA – Women’s competition.

“We want to see the divisions further down the pyramid go from strength to strength, too. There are also the Metro divisions, so the opportunity is there for all players to develop their game.” (source: Football West).
