Balga SC continued their perfect start to the season against Melville City FC to maintain their top of the ladder position.

Andreas Bouzinekis, Balga SC captain was impressed with the team performance. “I thought the performance was excellent, and the scoreline really reflected the way we worked together as a team” he said. “Everyone played their role really well, and not only did we finish our chances but we also didn’t allow Melville any real chances on goal either”

With just the second minute ticking away on the clock, Vlad Naumovski kicked of the scoring for Balga with a well finished goal past the Melville number 1. Balga continued to pile on the pressure and extended their lead on 21 minutes with Naumovski on the score sheet once again. Naumovski completed his hat-trick just 7 minutes later putting Balga in control. Melville pulled one back through a penalty just before the half time whistle to go into the break trailing by 2 goals.

Melville’s hopes for a come back were dashed just 1 minute into the second half with the man of the match Naumovski slotting in his fourth and final goal of the day. Hubert Hakizimana and Arji Tela finished off the scoring and rounding off an impressive performance by the squad.

“Vlad scoring 4 goals was the standout for me, but also Kyall orchestrating the midfield and Nahom causing headaches for the full backs out wide was important to our success” said Bouzinekis. “Early doors still, but really positive signs for the season, especially our ability to score goals at the moment as that has been a weakness for us over the years”.

Balga SC are back at Princess RD Reserve and take on Morley Windmills on Saturday 23 April 2016 in round 3 of the Football West All Flags State League Division 2.

Bouzinekis is confident going into the round 3 fixture “Looking forward to the game next week, I know Morley have a few excellent players at the back which will pose a good test for our attacking players” he said.
