We’re delighted to announce that Gerhard Janssen will be calling Balga SC home in season 2022 and continue in his role as the State League Men’s First Team Coach.
Janssen is looking forward to continuing on the foundation that he has set so far. “I’m very happy to extend my contract with Balga SC for another year and I am thankful for the club’s support of my work on all levels” said Janssen.
“The season so far is an expected start of building a new very young team. After a difficult start, we’re developing a solid and successful structure with highly motivated players. The last three wins in a row helped boost player’s confidence”.
For Janssen, it’s important to remove any distraction and focus on football “Stability is the key. To continue next year gives me the chance to bring the boys up to the next step in their development. The season is not over and we have some important games to come, however, it’s clear to everyone that something big is going on at Balga and I am very happy to be part of it”.
Ken Shorto, Balga SC President, is looking forward to a fruitful partnership with Janssen. “I am very pleased that we will have Gerhard continue in the role and I’m looking forward to club’s continued growth under his leadership” said Shorto. “His work ethic, attention to detail, player management and most importantly, his focus on youth development perfectly aligns with our core beliefs and what we’re trying to achieve with Fee Free Football”.
