Balga SC suffered their first loss of the season going down 1:0 to Joondalup City FC but remain top of the ladder.
“We always knew that Joondalup was going to be a tough fixture and unfortunately as a team we did not have a best day” said Dimce Jimmy Taneski. “Joondalup was well organized and we didn’t perform to our usual standard”.
In the top of the table match Balga conceded an early penalty which was a deciding factor in a game that lacked the finishing touch. Both sides produced a number of chances but both failed to convert their opportunities and stake their claim.
“I’m sure the guys will bounce back from our first defeat of the season and hopefully go to winning ways against another tough opponent Fremantle City. We always knew that these two fixtures will be hard for us because we don’t have the same physical presence as Joondalup and Fremantle but we need to go back to playing our own football and I’m sure we will bounce back stronger” commented Taneski.
Balga’s losses were further compounded by defeats in both the U18s and the Reserves games. A young Balga Reserves team battled hard but were unable to breach a well organised Joondalup side going down 5:0.
In another top of the table clash, Balga travel to Hilton Park Beaconsfield to take on Fremantle City FC.
